This week: Dutch Skaters dominate in Zakopane

- A beautiful ice rink in the snow, sunny weather with good ice conditions, eight track records and many personal records that was the scenery in which the ISU World Junior Speed Skating Championships took place in Zakopane-Poland. Roxanne van Hemert (NED) and Koen Verweij (NED) became the new allround world champions. In the ladies championships became Yvonne Nauta (NED) 2nd and Katarzyna Wozniak (POL) 3rd. In the menís competition was Jonathan Kuck (USA) 2nd and Brian Hansen (USA) 3rd. The team pursuit was also dominated by the Netherlands. Both with the Ladies and Men the Dutch team won the competition. In the Ladies competition Japan became 2nd and Korea 3rd. In the Menís competition Germany was 2nd and the USA 3rd.
